Hi,
it looks like the speed mode in Origin 2016 64bit is by default off which causes freezing of the program when dealing with large datasets. I am wondering how to change the default settings so that speed mode is on for data sets > 3000 points or something.

Thanks!

Hi Amanda,

yes, I use a user-defined template to create graphs. I did that in previous versions of Origin as well but the speed mode has never been affected by that. This time, I might have done something wrong creating the template. I know how to modify the template but I couldn't find and speed mode options in there. Any idea where to find it?

Hi sdroste,

Speed Mode is on by default when dataset > 3000 points in Origin 2016. Did you use a user-defined template to create a graph? Or did you change Origin.otp before? If so, you can find Origin.otp in your User Files folder and delete it.

Thanks,
Amanda
