Posted - 10/15/2003 : 11:50:00 AM In the Origin 6.0 (SR4) Help, there is written the following: " ... Origin opens the Appending Project dialog box, providing options on how the selected project appends to your current project. ... [New Folder - Append to this Folder radio buttons]".
But this is only valid until one checks the checkbox "don't ask me any more". Once this checkbox is selected, the Appending Project dialog box does not really appear any more and the current mode of appending the project remains active "forever" without any possibility to change it.
This can appear to be extremely inconvenient e.g. when appending several projects using LabTalk script: every subsequent project is then a subfolder of the previous one in the Project Explorer. That also means that scripts which were running properly under Origin 5.0 do not run under 6.0 and there is no way to make them running without a large programming effort...
Is there any Origin-system variable which can swich the question again "on"? Or (still better) a variable, which carries information directly on the appending mode? I have found none in the documentation. Or is there another way how to solve this trouble?

Posted - 10/21/2003 : 03:43:08 AM Thank you.
This helps a little bit in case one has a permission to edit the files in the software directory.
Better would certainly be to be able to set the position of the appended projects directly from the LabTalk scripts ...
Anyway, thanks.

In your Origin.ini file there may exist section [ReminderMessages]. Deleting that section (you could also just rename it to something like [ReminderMessages2] so Origin can't find it, but you can later restore it just in case) from origin.ini should reactivate all Reminder messages.

Posted - 10/16/2003 : 03:18:34 AM Thanks. But unfortunatelly, the menu "Tools:Reactivate Reminder Messages" does not exist in Origin 6.0 ...
