Hi
I am pretty new regardiing 3D plotting in Origin(6.1) using matrix
In Labtalk I wanted to do following things:
I have a matrix that when plotted produce a 3D surface.
1) I want to draw planes parallel to y-z axis at at certain x where the vaues of z is maximum ( i,e has peaks).Actually my z has 2 peaks as I can see from 3D graph.
2) and need all coordinate of intersection of that plane with the surface(i,e set of values (y vs z) at that x ) so that a 2D graph of ( y vs Z can be drawn )
Do any body know how to proceed in Labtalk to do such procedure.

Origin cannot display surfaces other than as a function of X and Y, however our profile plots do exactly what you are looking for.
With your matrix active, select
Plot : Profiles / Image
or
Plot : Profiles / Contour
The movable lines represent Y-Z and X-Z planes and the outlying curves show the Z values at their intersections of the planes with the surface.
