Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): 2018 pro
Operating System: W7 pro

I just noticed one small thing with respect to this comment about loading a custom menu.

https://my.originlab.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=45470

I have my menu, but it sometimes disappears and has to be forced back by toggling the Format...Menu... option to default and then back.

I wondered if this is because I am programmatically creating projects using origin c code that saves the file as the older 'opj' style project.

Is anything about the 'persistence' of the menu tied to the project that is open at the time?

Thanks for tracking it down!

As you say, it is probably trivial for me to activate a workbook before saving.

Hi J,

I tried to reproduce as you described. I found this issue only exists when we save the project as an opj file with a graph window active. As a workaround, I think you could:

1. Active a workbook window before you save that project as an opj file
Or
2. Save as an opju file, and you might also found this.

I have reported this issue (ID: ORG-19784) and our developer will look into it. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Yuki

Hi Yuki,

Sorry for the delay, but this is not a case of just having the visibility set incorrectly, it actually just disappears when creating and reopening projects.

Format>menu> shows mine should be active (but it is not visible). Toggling this to default and back again makes my menu appear.

I can send you a copy of the OMC file, but this should be fairly uncontroversial.
The export line is Project.Save(projpath) where the path includes explicitly the extension 'opj').

Hi J,

Not sure if you have specified the Window Type for your custom menu. If so, the custom menu would be only available when the specified window type is active. You could select Tools: Custom Menu Organizer, then go to Add Custom Menu tab and check.

If Always is selected in Custom Menu Organizer dialog, I think we need your custom menu file to do further check.

Yuki
