I am new to Origin, I have been using Excel for many years. I am using both Excel and Origin, I need to start intergrating data into Origin specifily be able to make graphs utilizing Origin. I need to be able to use the realtime data and started using "paste link". When I use the "paste link" function it is essential creating a DDE connection to excel which is fine. My first issue is that ever time I open the project it asks to I want to start the DDE connection, I want Origin to automaticly connect without asking? 2nd issue is that after it asks me if I want to start the DDE link I get the following prompt "Remote data not accessible. Start Application Excel" excel never launches and then I get the error "linking failed, most likely due to problem in topic".

Please advise.

Excel isn't set to ignore other programs, if I have excel open prior to opening Origin everything works fine but I still get that annoying "do you want to start the dde link" prompt that I don't want to get...

This may be due to a setting in Excel to ignore other aplications, but rather than fix that problem, I recommend you use Excel's VBA capabilities to interface with Origin as a COM Server.
