Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): origin 8.0 SR6
Operating System: windows xp

I have a problem with using the x-function "normalize" that happens no matter what datasets I have open.

when i run it in the script window, for example:

normalize iy:=col(2) method:=range;

it completely shuts down origin!!

when I try to run it from the command window it gives me the error:

"External call execution error".

If I try to execute it again, it completely shuts down origin!

Any thoughts?

You may have encountered the same problem as described here:
http://www.originlab.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=8602

"Do not give an OGS file the same name as an existing Origin function or X-Function."
