Hi,
I was using the normalize x-function in my program to normalize some data sets and a subtrate I have. The problem I have found is sometimes the highest peak on the data sets is not the same peak as on the substrate. Is there a way to use the normalize x-function and specify a range so that it normalizes the data using the same peak each time?
Right now I am going to try and mask all the data except for that range the peak is in, but I'm not sure if this will work. Is there a better/more simple to accomplish this?

Posted - 06/21/2010 : 4:43:26 PM You can first use the pkfind x-function to find the peak in the given range you specify. You can then normalize using the value found.

Posted - 06/21/2010 : 3:39:56 PM I tried using the range of rows but it appears that the only data normalized is what is within that range. What I wanted was for all the data to be normalized, but rather than it be normalized in reference to the highest peak, make it normalize with respect to the same peak every time regardless of height. (The peak I am interested in always falls within a given range.
The reason for this is a substrate is being subtraced from the data and when they aren't normalized in reference to the same peak, the data that results is not right. |

In other words, put the range in square brackets. The input in the above example is rows 100 - 500.
