Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): 8.1
Operating System:Win XP SP 3

Hello,
I would like to write a string variable (pname$) into a cell like this:

string pname$ = test;
cell(1,1) = pname$;

However, I just get a NULL as if cell only takes integers...Do I have to use range?

cell(1,1)$ = pname$;
