Origin Ver.8 prof wxp
I have a bar graph showing both + and - Y values.
However, the bottom X axis does not show up. I have Y=0 and top X axes but no bottom X axis. When I try to add it, Origin reacts as if the bottom axis was the Y=0 axis. I can add a straight line to it but that is not the true bottom axis.
How can I fixed it?

Yes I needed 3 horyzontal lines.
Your suggested trick work!
However there were no Bottom-x, right-Y (linked) options appearing in my Origin vs!
I have to do it manually after inserting the Bottom-x Lefy-Y (normal) option layer. ????. Nevertheless, the final appearance improved a lot!!

When you positive and negative data and create a column graph, Origin automatically positions the bottom x axis at zero and draws the bars 'up' and 'down' with that as a base.
You can move the axis to the bottom, but the columns will all draw 'up' instead of mixed 'up' and 'down'. If that's what you want then select Format : Axes : X-Axis and click the Title & Format tab, Bottom selection. Change Axis Position to Bottom and you are done.
If you want the 'up' and 'down' style (with axis at zero), and a Bottom axis you can use the Top selection and position that axis as % from top and use a value of -100.
If you need all three horizontal axes, then just select Graph : New Layer (Axes) and select Bottom-X, Right-Y (Linked dimensions). |
