Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): 8.5
Operating System: win7

Hello

I have some columns that has a script that collects data from another sheet. When I change a number in the sheet to get data from, origin does not think that any columns needs to be updated.

However if i once manually opens the set columns box, and press appply, origins "learns" that when a number is changed in the sheets the columns needs to be updated.

I have a lot of different columns and sheets that exchange data and needs to be updated, so anyway i can get origin to find out for it self that the columns needs to be updated?

Another fix could simply be to run a scripts once in a while, that updates all columns that has a script in the set column value box. Anyway to do that?

ps. All scripts are set to be calculated manually.

Please send an Origin project that shows this issue. Please email to tech@originlab.com.

Also, please select Help:About Origin and let us know exactly what it says, including the build number.

Thank you,
Laurie

It seems like a similar problem like this post

where one says:

Hi,

thanks for your reply. I'm doing the exact same thing under Origin Pro 8G SR1 v8.0773 (B773) and it does not auto update. The link between the cells is set correctly. After clicking on the green lock, recalculation is not possible manually. The only way to make it do so is to relink the cells.

cheers

Stephan

However I use 8.5 sr1, so it should be fixed?

I know. The problem is that when i changes something it does not turn yellow. It is like origin does not see the changes.

It only see the changes after I "learn" to origin that when something is changed here, it need to recalculate.

The way i do that is make it recalculate the column manually, it then reconizes that changes in another column also means changes in that, and after that the recalculate mode works as it should.

But because i have a lot of columns, i can't make it recalculate all columns manually to make origin learn, it will take a lot of time, and because i make new sheets all the time, i need to do this every day.

You should set Recalculate as Auto. For manually mode, if source data changes, lock icon will become yellow.
