I am looking for the following example:

Accessing MS Office Programs

The OriginC COM interface allows programmatic exchange of data with MS Office applications.

For more information, see the file ReportCreation.c in the \OriginC\Samples\COM subfolder. This program does the following:

1.

Opens an Excel Workbook named ExcelData.XLS from the \OriginC\Samples\COM folder.

2.

Reads the data in all (2) worksheets of this sample Excel file.

3.

Graphs the data in Origin using a custom template and performs a nonlinear curve fit.

4.

Exports the resulting graph with fit curve to a BMP file.

5.

Creates a new Word document for each worksheet, using a custom template.

6.

Places the graph image and other relevant information into the Word document.

I go to the location specified but there is no example.

Hi,

Updates such as service releases are always put up on our website - you can find the location, for instance, by looking under the downloads area. The link to the SR2 update for ver7 is:
http://www.originlab.com/www/support/70patch2.asp

You will need to be registered to enter this area and get the patch.

I am evaluating this product for my company and only have the downloaded version.

Hello,

Do you have OriginPro, or regular Origin? The COM programming feature is available only with OriginPro, and furthermore, you will need to apply the 7SR2 patch for OriginPro to add this feature.
