Hi Everyone,
Please help me with the following equation (Image attached):
I have experimental data y = f(x) and I need to do fitting of the data in order to determine the value of N.
Please help!
Thank you

Posted - 08/05/2015 : 11:31:36 PM Thank you Jason. I was not aware of this option. But I am still wondering how can I evaluate the factorial number N for better fit with the equation attached.
Thank you

Posted - 08/05/2015 : 6:09:01 PM I forgot to mention that E_k and A_k are adjusting parameters to fit the experimental data. E_k and A_k I could define them for N=3. I am more interested in defining the value of N to get better fit. Thank you

It's more like FFT than curve fitting. Yet I'm afraid then it's NOT the N to determine.

Posted - 08/05/2015 : 10:43:30 AM Hi Jason,
E_k and A_k are not constants, and the equation it is series of E_k, A_k. What I mean by my post is that I am trying to fit my experimental data with the equation attached in a way to determine the value of N required to get the best fit of my experimental data. I have tried N=3 (which means : y = y0+(E1*exp(-x/A1))+(E2*exp(-x/A2))+(E3*exp(-x/A3)) but didn't get good fit. I am wondering if there is a way with OriginLab to find the value of N that will give best fit instead of trying each N value (N=4, N=5, N=6.....)
Thanks a lot!
Sara

Hello,
You mean the number N for exponent item is not a constant, so the fitting function is not fixed; You first step is find a fixed fitting function, but not a fitting results, right? How about E_k and A_k, do they have a constant value?
