How does one access from Origin C the descriptive
statistics functions available through the stat
object in LabTalk?

Hi,

Also try the Origin C global function Data_sum. Select the Help:Programming menu item in Origin, and then look in the Origin C Language Reference under Global Functions and you will see a Statistics section where you will find the Data_sum function.
