I’m considering moving towards Origin C use from labtalk, but still need to have access to the origin toolbox (data reader, screen reader, etc.). Many of my labtalk scripts use the data reader tool to select regions of interest within a graph. I have a separate labtalk script that is often run before other scripts, which uses the data reader tool to select the boundaries of regions of interest within the data. This is a somewhat clumsy method but it works fine (as described in the knowledge base; “using the GETPTS command and running a script” at http://www.originlab.com/index.aspx?s=9&pid=541).
After picking these points I then run another script which does whatever analysis that needs to be done (eg. extracts the chosen regions into a new worksheet and then does background fits or whatever).
1) Can the toolbox be used in a similar way from Origin C?
2) Is there any better way to do things such as selecting regions of interest interactively while looking at graphs in conjunction with origin C? … perhaps data masking of some sort?
