Posted - 05/11/2004 : 05:50:08 AM Hi, I use the DDE (Dynamic Data Exchange) Protocol to send Real time data to Origin.Though most of the people in the forum suggested me to use COM instead of DDE, I found DDE to be more efficient and easy in my case. My Question: I initially used Origin 7 PRO version (under Windows XP PRO)and I saw that the CPU usage (from the task manager)was the same for any number layers in a single window (I tried from one layer to 16 layers).Recently I upgraded my origin to the 7.5PRO version and saw to my dismay that the CPU usage increased drastically as the number of layers in a window increased. Was there a change in the updation mechanism of Origin when it switched over to Origin 7.5 PRO ? I dont mind working with Origin 7 PRO. This is just to get an insight of Origin Thanks, Deepak Samuel. |

I m shooting in the dark here, but can you check the Plot Details for that graph page with 16 layers, the Drawing Order. It is in the Micellaneous tab on the page level. Best performance for realtime update should probably use
Draw layer by layer.
