Hello,
I am having a little trouble opening the Import Multiple Ascii dialogue box. In the "getting user input" section of the help files for Origin C there is a function listed called getfilename. I tried calling it with no arguments and the open origin project file box popped up. What I really want is the multiple ascii box. Basically what I am trying to do is automate the process of importing ascii files into a worksheet by running an origin c program (that also does many other things). Does anyone know how I can do this?
Even if there was a way to somehow list all of the files in a directory, then I could go about opening them. I want to open all of the files in a directory, but I do not know what their names are before hand.
Any suggestions?

The last post in the topic cited above describes how to use the fdlog object in Origin C (7.0).

I am using Origin 7, but actually I found a solution!! I can open it by using the LabTalk object fdlog inside of my Origin C code. This object has "member functions" that allow you to control the open dialogue box in many ways. As far as I know your suggestion cannot work in version 7, so too bad I only have the older version.

Hi Evan,
If you're using Origin 7.5 look for GetMultiOpenBox() in the programming guide...
Global Functions->User Interface Controls->GetMultiOpenBox
In Origin 7.0 you can use LabTalk's Fdlog.MultiOpen as described in a previous topic.
