Posted - 08/20/2005 : 12:16:22 AM Sorry for this dummy question. But I am really a newbie of Origin. I have a dataset and want to use NLSF to fit the data. I already know the equation we should apply. But I don't know how to define the function in Origin7 which I am using now even after I read through the help files. Hope someone can help me with this function below. The function is: y=abs(a*tan(b*x)) [abs represents the absolute value]
I want to fit the dataset and get the best-fit a&b values. Thanks in advance!

Have you looked at the Nonlinear Curve Fitting tutorial? The procedure for creating a fitting function is explained fairly well there.
