Hello guys,

I am wondering if it is possible to modify the Gompertz equation and use the modified Gompertz equation. Any help? I tried but I do not know how to change it.

Thanks a lot!!

Hi,

If you mean modifying the "SGompertz" function built in to Origin, do this:

1. Press F9 to open the Fitting Function Organizer.
2. In the list on the left of the dialog, expand the Growth/Sigmoidal node and select SGompertz.
3. Right-click and select Duplicate. You will observe a new entry entitled "CopyOfSGompertz (User)".
4. Click OK to close dialog.
5. Hit F8 to open Fitting Function Builder to Edit the copy you just made.
6. In the first page of the wizard, choose "Edit a User-Defined Function" and select"CopyOfSGompertz" from the dropdown.

From here on out, you can read our docs for how to work with user defined fitting functions.

Here is a link to get you started:
