Origin Version (Select Help-->About Origin): 7
Operating System: XP

I would like to create a graph with 4 elements and read instructions for layers. From the toolbar I can select lines and scatterplot but cannot find the option to create scatterplot without line between points as I am used to in a graph window. Is it because this is a limitation of my older version, or do I miss info on how to do it?

Yours, Reidun Heiene

You can also select each curve and Change to > Scatter on the right-click menu. Either way, if you want to make Scatter the default plot type for this type of graph just right-click on the graph window's title bar and select Save Template.

Hi Reidun,

I not sure if I got your meaning this time. Did you mean you can not change the curve style in a 4 panels graph ?

The latest patch for Origin7 is SR4, you can download it here.

Thanks, no I can find the scatterplot button. My problem is different - When I want to make 4 graphs in the same picture there is no button for 4 scatterplots only a button for 4 scatterplots WITH lines (extended 2D toolbar) and I have not been able to remover the lines between the points, which I cannot use (120 data points scattered around a weak regression line) I have tried to use layers but then I have had trouble to create graphs next to one another. they only come on top of each other, although I see from the manual that at least it should be possible to make 2 above and below one another. I'd appreciate some input as I do not have people around me who use the program. Would I have to update to a new version (or is that possible without purchasing a new version?) or is it possible in version 7 which I have?

Yours Reidun Heiene

Hi Reidun Heiene,

Did you mean you can not find the button for plotting a scatter graph as shown in the picture?

If it is, you can turn it back by following steps,

1> select View: Toolbars from the main menu.
2> In the Customize Toolbar dialog, go to the Button Groups tab and select 2D graphs. The scatter plot button should be listed in the right. Select and drag it to the toolbar.
