Origin Version (Select Help-->About Origin): v8.0773
Operating System:XP

I have a code for importing data files with a filter file specifiying "*.mes" as extension with the command
"ImportFile(wpg, strFilterFile, strDataFile)"

In Origin 7.5 it works fine to import also files with different extensions, such as *.mes1, *.mes2 etc.
Origin 8 returns an error message because the extensions don't match.
Can extension checking be switched off??
Do I need to explicitly exchange the extension in the filter for every file I import? or is there another way of importing files with unknown extension with a set filter file?

I am not sure what extension designation you had in your 7.5 filter.

*.me*

should work with both 7.5 and 8.
