Origin Ver 8.1 SR3
Operating System: WinXP
I create an user X-Function with output variable of type Column.
The default data for this column is <new>.
User can use as an existing column, as allow function to create a new column.
How can I determine which is the user case in my code?
I want to give a special name for new column.

If you only want to update the LongName of a <new> column and the name is fixed, a simple way is to use option string N, which is used to specify the default name of output objects.

You can fill for example N: "mycol name" on the Option String column of that output variable in X-Function Builder.
