Hello,
I'm trying to add another entry to Origin's descriptive statistics output that is standard deviation/mean and have Origin output it with the rest of the descriptive statistics. I can see in 'stat_utils.c' where to add my variable, but what is not clear is how to incorporate my new variable into the statistics dialog box as well as how to have Origin output the value into the results worksheet. I was hoping that someone here might have some insight.

Hi Ty,
First of all, the quantity you need, "standard deviation/mean", is already an output in descriptive statistics tool.
Its label name is "Coefficient of Variance", under Quantities to Compute branch - Moments.
On the other hand, it is complicated to modify the Statistics on Columns tool to add additional output quantities.
We suggest you could modify another simpler tool "stats" if needed.
It is an X-Function in Origin.
You can run script "stats -d" to see its dialog.
