Posted - 12/16/2011 : 07:55:42 AM I have datasets as follows:
7,5584E-14 5,04158E-14 1,36872E-13 6,05466E-14 9,52616E-14 2,00775E-14 1,86524E-13 2,88542E-13 (...)
From those I created histograms with the button in the toolbar (where also boxplots are). Now, I want to compare the datasets I have which makes it necessary to normalize the data, so that the sum of all colums in the histogram equals 1. Is there any possibility to do that with origin?
Thanks for any hint!

You can first make a frequency table with the relative frequencies, then simply plot them. To do so:
1) Highlight the data column, and choose "Statistics: Descriptive Statistics: Frequency Counts" menu. 2) In the "freqcounts" tool, turn ON the check box of "Relative Frequency" check box under "Quantities to Compute" option branch, abd select "Fraction" (to make the sum to 1) for the "Frequency in" option. 3) Make a Column graph from the frequency table.
Hope this is what you are looking for.
