Howdy,
is it possible to increase the maximum allowable data point entry's. For example, I need to plot about 2000 columns by 1000 data points per column.

Regards
Russell

Hi Russell,

Origin 6.0 is scheduled to be released sometime this Spring. A number of improvements in 3D plotting capability have been made. We have fully integrated all 3D plot controls into our standard Plot Details dialog box and we have added several new controls such as: indexed symbol colors, sizes, and shapes; pattern support; graph caching for even faster redraw; a cube frame; and more.

New features and improvents were made to many other areas of the program as well. Watch the home page of our website for more and updated information regarding both release date and new and improved features.

Thanks for your interest!

Gary

Thanks Gary,
any idea when the new version will be available. Have you put much work into the 3D plotting capabilities?

A single worksheet in Origin 5.0 can have as many as 427 columns. If you have a need to plot more datasets than that simply create additional worksheets (Click the New Worksheet button on the Standard toolbar). You will need to have at least five worksheets in order to plot 2,000 columns of data. Origin 5.0 can easily handle 1,000 data points per column.

Note: Our next release version will be able to accommodate well over 2,000 columns of data in a single worksheet.
