hi, i wonder if it is possible in a worksheet to fix or lock the first column so that it is always visible while scrolling horizontal.
Another (not so good) solution would be to declare the first column as "row numbers"...
Any ideas? thanks, theresa. |

Posted - 03/01/2012 : 11:06:03 AM There both horizontal and vertical split controls which you can position wherever you like. You can still scroll anywhere in the two sections you create, but one will remain fixed while you scroll the other.
The vertical splitter is located just above the resize box in the lower right of the workbook. The horizontal splitter is located just to the left of the resize box. Drag either to any position you like.

Yes, there is a way to lock the first, or several, columns while you can scroll through the remaining columns. Between the Right-Horizontal Scroll button and the Sizing tool at the bottom of your spreadsheet is the Splitter. Move your cursor over it (You should see the curso change), hold down the left mouse button and drag the splitter to the left. Where ever you place it, the splitter will divide your view of the spreadsheet, giving you the ability to scroll horizontally over two sections of your spreadsheet independently. |
