Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): 8.6SR2
Operating System: win7 x64

It seems that the merge-graph doesn't work. Is there other way to merge graphs?

Regards

Hi Redman,

This problem only happens on some Win7 PCs and so far merge graph is the only tool we found having this problem.

Here is how to fix it:

Right click your Origin and choose Run as administrator.
Then with a graph window active, choose Graph: Merge Graph Windows menu.

After the fix, you don't need to run Origin as admin in the future.

Thanks, Snow Li

Dear Hideo,

Here are the results of your concern:
1) Yes.
2) Yes. I used some other x-functions such as newbook, integ1, normalize..., all work well.
3) Rebuild All => Nothing to compile, workspace empty, or all files are excluded.
4) merge_graph -d => "#Command Error!"
5) Repair or re-install of Origin 8.6 SR2 (previously installed SR1+update) did not solve the problem either.
6) I installed Originpro 8.6 SR2 on another X64 PC (7 days evaluation), the problem keeps the same.

Hi redman,

Hmmmm... maybe your installed Origin program might be corrupted by some way.
Could you please check and try the following?

1) After deleting OCTemp folders, when you restarted Origin, have you seen the
progress bar to tell you the process of compilation? (It should!)

2) Does any other x-function command work okay? For example, if you enter the
following command, was a new workbook created without error?
  newbook <PRESS_ENTER>

3) Open a CodeBuilder window ("View: CodeBuilder" menu). In CodeBuilder,
press "Rebuild All" tool button (or ALT+F8). In the message area, do you
see "Linking... Done!" message? Or, did you get errors?

4) If you "Linking... Done!" message, try the following command again:
  merge_graph -d <PRESS_ENTER>

5) If 4) has failed, maybe it's time to repair your installation.
Choose "OriginLab> Origin8.6> Add or Remove Files" from Start menu,
then choose "Repair" in the Setup program.

Dear Hideo,

I tried your way to delete the OCTemp folds. However, this did not solve the problem.

The problem is that Orignpro does not do anything if I use " merge graph windows" from the menu. It shows "#Command Error!" if I run merge_graph with or without an option from the scritp window as well as the command window.

Best regards

Hi redmanA

Did you get any error message? Or, simply Origin doesn't anything? Did Origin crash?
It is difficult to say something without further information....

Anyway, as merge_graph was implemented as an x-function, and consequently
it runs as a C program, I suggest to do the following:

1) In Script window, enter the following two commands:
  system.path.appdata$= <PRESS_ENTER>
and
  system.path.program$= <PRESS_ENTER>

These two commands return your application temporary place and the
  Origin program location.

2) Close Origin, and navigate to the above two locations, and
find "OCTemp" subfolders. Delete both of them.

3) Restart Origin, and try and see if merge_graph is now working, or not.

Hope this is the right shot.
