Hello, I was wondering if there is a way to plot 2D colour graph with z size as a colour using Origin 8.1? I attached an example of such graph (unfortunately I am not sure what program was used to make such plot). Thanks in advance.

Hi ivanosu,

That type of plot is called "Color Mapped" scatter plot, and you can customize the
color mapping (Z value vs. color at each level).
Having XYZ data in a worksheet, you can choose "Plot: Symbol: Color Mapped"
menu (in 8.6). Also, in the recent versions (8.5 or later) of Origin, you can control
the transparency of the overlapped colors so that the rear symbols can be still visible
behind the front symbol. Please see the screenshot below.
