Posted - 06/02/2012 : 12:11:30 AM Is it possible to create a color scale in a contour plot without labels? I.e. just the rainbow-like colors, without numbers on the side? I would like to add the labels myself in proper exponential format, rather than Origin's "xxEyy".
Thanks!

Sure, I added your suggestion into our bug/suggestion record system ORG-5870 and will try to implement it in a future version.

thanks for your reply. White text has been my workaround so far, but of course this is not ideal when the background is the contour plot itself.
Maybe a simple control to switch off labels for color scales completely would make sense?
Thanks, Marcus

Hi Gandi,
The only option to "turn off" text in the color scale appears to be to set the color of the text to the background color such as white.
We will consider supporting 10^x notation in the label for color scale. This support has already been added to axes labels in then upcoming version.
