While fitting some data by means of a nonlinear Curve Fit (see image) it happened to me that the values of R-Square (COD) and Adj. R-Square became negative. Interestingly the R Value is said to be zero.
Could this be true or is this some kind of bug? If these values are correct, what do they mean or how can I interpret them? Is there really an advantage in considering the adj. R-Square instead of the normal one when comparing the goodness of a fit?

THX for the help,
Dan

Hi Dan,

See this help file page:
http://originlab.com/www/helponline/Origin/en/UserGuide/Goodness_of_Fit.html

Also, the R value may not have been displayed with enough precision? Your image is only partially visible, you could send your opj to tech support, use the link on top right of the page, and refer to this post in your message.
