 How to integrate the correct area in closed shape?

Origin Ver. and Service Release: OriginPro 8 SR1
Operating System: Win 7- 64bit

I was trying to integrate area from closed shapes, but sometimes origin integrates wrong area(I noticed this by pressing the "area" button while I was viewing the curve plotted from data.)

What I did to integrate the area was clicking the integrate option while viewing the curve. I've tried both mathematics and absolute area, but there were no differences between the results.

This is the plotted curve from data, I need to integrate the area inside the curve.


However, area being integrated was as shown:


But sometime it works for other curve in similar shape:


Could someone help me with this?

Clicking the 'Area' button only turns on Area Fill. The pieces of the graph that draw down (broad in one case and a line in the other) are the consequence of the type of Area Fill being Normal. On the Line tab of Plot Details you can change that to "Inclusive broken by missing values" to correct that, but neither setting should have anything to do with area calculation.
Mathematical area calculation should give the correct result unless your data overlaps in some way that is not obvious in your plots. I certainly can't explain it by looking at pictures. You should send your project to tech@originlab.com.

By the way, I know I can integrate the upped curve and subtract the integrated area of the lower curve, but it takes too long, since I have a lot of data.
