Hi,

How do I introduce a break in the axis of the graph. When I follow the steps listed on "creating an axis break" as given in ORIGIN nothing happens to the graph. I select the break tab, check against Show break and give the values in the from and to text box.

Also how do I display the linear equation for the graph on it?

Hi,

I'm not sure what's your graph like but I assume you have text data for x axis (or y), and for "break region" you typed in text values, so that nothing happens in the graph, right? That's because Origin the axis tick location is always handled as numeric data

In that case, you should use numeric value instead of text, e.g. if your X axis is "a,b,c,d,e", in numeric format they are corresponding to "1,2,3,4,5".

In order to display an equation you could insert an equation as OLE object, right click on your graph page and select menu items as the following screenshot:
