Exporting graphs to wmf/ai/eps that contain symbols as datamarkers goes wrong in Origin 6.0. Square markers or dots look very ugly in the output file: irregular, too small etc.
Is there any workaround for this problem? The SR1 does not fix the problem.

Thanx in advance,

Armand

Armand and Andre,

I thought both of you would like to know that Patch 2 for Origin 6.0 has officially been released today (3/28/2000). Applying this patch should correct the problems that you are both experiencing.

To download Patch 2, go to the Service Release Patch 2 download page now!

Sincerely,
Ryan Toomey

Hi,
I am having similar problems when transfering pages/pictures from ORIGIN 6.0 to other softwares such as WORD2000 or DESIGNER. I tried the std copy and paste and the picture quality is compromissed. I tried exporting the pages w/ different formatting wmf, emf, eps, ai, tif, and none give a good result, i.e. the the picture quality is not as good as if I woul printed directly from ORIGIN (with e.g. weird shapes for datamarkes and lines) . I remember not having the same problems with ORIGIN 4.0. I know that that ORIGIN has included an other party library, but that seems to give worse results than before. Does microcal has any time schedule for the release of the SRP 2.0? Or does anyone knows any way around?? My work is being seriously compromised !!
Thanks
Andre Ferlauto

Armand,

The problems you see with symbol shape are related to a known bug. Although it has not been corrected yet (and there is currently no known workaround), it has been reported to our developers and is targeted to be fixed for Service Release Patch 2 for Origin 6.0. An exact release date for this free upgrade is not yet available. Microcal Software apologizes for any inconvenience this causes you.

Just to let you know, we have taken your e-mail address from your profile and will keep it on file so that our distributor in the Netherlands, MVB Scientific, can contact you when it is fixed.
