I was used to zoom in and out by ctrl+I, ctrl+O, ctrl+L and ctrl+W.
Now in v6 I'm missing the ctrl+L (zoom layer to window) command, and ctrl+I requires an additional mouse action while ctrl+O (in v6 replaced by ctrl+M) does not.
Are there any 'hidden' (i.e. not described in help file) shortcuts in v6.0G ?

Mathias

Add these lines at the end of your fullmenu.cnf file, that is in your Origin 6.0 folder:

menu -G;

menu ?Vi;
menu (Zoom to layer) {page.zoomLayer=1;}

Restart Origin after editing the file. Make sure that Format->Menu->Full Menus is active.

With this, you'll have a new element at the end of the View menu that will zoom to the active layer. I'm afraid it is not possible to create keyboard shortcuts for these user-defined menu elements, but I find this solution more confortable than Ctrl+I then mouse clicking then centering the layer...

See LabTalk help for further information about the menu command if you prefer this element to appear in other place.

Jose.

Dealing with each shortcut key individually:

"Zoom Layer to Window"CTRL + LThis set of shortcut keys is now used to create a new legend (Graph:New Legend). In changing the functionality of this shortcut key combination, they did not implement a new set for "zoom layer to window". I have entered a bug report suggesting that they bring this feature back under a new set of shortcut keys. I have added your name and e-mail address to the report in the event that the developers need to contact you.
Zoom InCTRL + IThe menu View:Zoom In was changed so that it and the Zoom In button behaved the same way (i.e. they both bring up the magnifying tool). As a result CTRL + I changed, too. This is by design. Unfortunately there is no plan to bring back the old functionality.
Zoom OutCTRL + O (CTRL + M)This set of shortcut keys (CTRL + O) was changed so that it now brings up the Open dialog box (File:Open). This more closely follows MS Windows standards. As you have already found out, CTRL + M has been implemented to replace CTRL + O when using the keyboard to zoom out.
Whole PageCTRL + WYou did not mention any problems.

Finally, any shortcuts that we provide should be listed directly to the right of each menu selection. For instance, if you select File:Open you should see that CTRL + O is listed next to it. Therefore, I do not believe that there are any additional "hidden" shortcuts.

I hope that this information proves helpful.

Sincerely,
