We like to import data from an Oracle database via the Oracle 8 ODBC-driver. We use Windows NT Workstation 4.0 SP6 German. Since Office 97 there are 3 posibilities to define data sources in ODBC. User- and System-Datasources (which are stored in the registry) and File-Datasources (which are ASCII-Files in the filesystem). I cannot save the password in the user- und system-datasources with the Oracle 8 ODBC driver. This is only possible in the DSN-Files (File data sources). Can I access DSN-File data sources in Origin? Thanks for a short reply.

Hi...

As far as I know Origin does not support File DSNs. I tried to access data from a File DSN via Origin's ODBC Application window but the datasource was not listed on the Data Base tab. I will make a suggestion that Origin support this feature in the future.
