Posted - 06/11/2000 : 1:02:00 PM I am using Origin 5 and I have problems in managing a nonlinear curve fitting of a user-defined function with 1 independent variable (x) and 2 dependent variables (y_1,y_2). The value of the y_2 is constant, because Origin uses always the same x to compute y_2.

Posted - 06/14/2000 : 8:39:00 PM The release version of 5.0 did have a problem filling in the dataset for the second dependent variable in the situation you describe. The function parameters are calculated correctly and you can correct the problem by using Set Column Values on the second Y column in the NLSF worksheet and enter the same expression used in the function definition of the second dependent variable. This should be done immediately after fitting while parameter values are still valid.
This problem was addressed in the Patch for version 5.0 which is available on our Downloads page.
