Hi,Origin 5.0 was released approximately 2 years before Windows 2000 so there was no way to completely test Origin 5.0's compatibility with Windows 2000 prior to Origin 5.0's release. Nonetheless, we have not heard of any significant problems when installing or running Origin 5.0 on Windows 2000.
Without knowing any details or symptoms I would guess that the problem is related to Windows 2000 security features. You should check with your system administrator and make sure that you have adequate system privileges to install applications that make changes to the Windows Registry and/or install system DLLs.
I also recommend that you contact your Origin distributor and ask for Technical Support. Be sure to include a complete description of the problem (like any error messages or what you see when you install, etc.) and of course your Origin serial number.
Note: Origin 6.0 has been tested and has been found to be fully compatible with Windows 2000. If interested, see the statement regarding Origin 6.0's Installation Requirements.
I Hope this is helpful.
