when exporting coloured graphs to e.g .jpg, .wmf, .emf,... to insert them in another program (like scientific workplace, the colours often disappear or do not appear nicely (like broken lines). For some graphs it works, for some it doesn't and I don't find any systematics in this. Any suggestions how to retrieve optimised coloured graphs (the file format is not so important, but preferentially not too large files)?

You don't say which version of Origin you are using, but I would suggest that you download ver5 SR2 or ver6 SR4, if you haven't already done so (available free of charge at www.originlab.com). This may improve your results.

The symptoms you describe might have any number of causes. If, for instance, you have chosen to export your image as a 256 color image and you have your Windows color palette set to true color, then your colors may shift.

You may not be getting satisfactory display of graph lines because of resource limitations or an Origin+print driver conflict.

You may get differing results when exporting graphics depending on how the image is interpreted by the client application.

Keep in mind that we give toll-free technical support to registered Origin users. These export options should work and if they don't, you should contact us with the specifics of the problem. We will be happy to try to find a solution.

Thanks,
Mike
