I have problems with export of .wmf-files in Origin 6.0. In Word neither grid lines nor dotted curves look like the Origin original plots - they are much thicker and irregular compared to the prints of original plots. This is not the case when I export the same graph in Origin 4.1!?!

What to do?

Thanks

Michael

There are several possible explanations. I ran a quick comparison myself between Origin 4.1, 6.0 Release, and 6.0 SR4 and found only very subtle differences in dashed lines among the three WMF files, once pasted into Word97. However, your graphic obviously produced a different result.

One thing to check for: make sure that the print driver that is chosen as default at the time of file export is the same as that with which the file was created.

Also, be aware that if you select the image once it has been imported into Word, it will be converted to a Word object and your original image may be changed.

The best thing to do is to contact Technical Support with your question. You may send an e-mail with a brief explanation the problem (Which version of Word are you using, What is your operating system, how are you creating the file -- presumably you are simply choosing File: Export: WMF and not doing a Copy: Paste -- correct?). Attach a copy of the Origin Project file or an OGG file. Also, a copy of your two WMF files would be helpful (though not necessary).

Be sure to include your Origin serial number with your inquiry.

Thanks, Michael.
