I use a free program, xpspeak, to convert my deconvoluted curves into *.dat files. This is necessary because this is the only way I know of, to transfer the files from the Sun computer to a PC with Windows and Origin for further processing. Mathematically, the result is a single X, many Y spreadsheet. Unfortunately, only the two first colums are imported. I suspect the reason is that the *.dat file is a wide spreadsheet and Origin, like Word and unlike WordPad, wraps up long lines. Does anybody know if this feature can be switched off somehow? I tried importing the same files with GraFit and SigmaPlot and met no difficulties.

Origin doesn't have a problem with multiple columns so it's probably just a setting in your ASCII Import options. This is really a question for Tech Support (unless some user has experience with "xspeak" and can provide a Worksheet Template for importing.) Send your file to tech@originlab.com.
