Hi
My question is very basic
I am trying this one first time.
I have 300 data points. I use plot >line to draw a graph. Similarly I have three sets of data points. I plot a graph for all the four set of data points. I want to make the line graph with legend symbol. But when I use line+symbol option the graph in the symbols are very close can not distinguish between the symbols. How I can get few points in the line graph to make the legend symbol

Hi,
You can do this by double clicking on the line in your graph, which will open the Plot Details Dialog. If you go to the Drop Lines tab you can check the Skip Points box. If you wanted there to be 15 symbols for 300 data points then you would want to set the Skip Points value to be 20.
Let me know if this doesn't work for you. Also, if this leaves some gaps in your lines, you may need to reopen the Plot Details dialog, and in the Line tab un-check the Gap to Symbol box.

Yes. what you have mentioned are correct.
I need few legend symbols on each line in the graph( maximum 15 symbols equally distributed)
If I use line graph without symbol and want to print(B/W) the page , I may not differentiate the line. In that case I need few legend symbols on the line in graph so that I can able to read the graph.

I'm not sure I fully understand your question. It sounds like you're saying you have 4 sets of XY data, and that each set contains 300 data points. And it sounds like you have successfully plotted all the datasets together as a line+symbol graph, but are having trouble because the symbols on each line are overlapping and making it hard to read the graph.
If that is the case you may want to try just using a line graph without symbols, or expanding the graph a lot in order to see each symbol.
If that doesn't answer your question or if I have misunderstood your issue please try to explain it again for me.
