Hi,
I fitted my peaks using Peak Analyzer with Gaussian function(Note: not Gauss!).The fitting report gave the parameters like y0,xc,A,w. In Gauss,I know w=2*sigma. However,in Gaussian, how can I get the standard deviation(sigma)?

Hi Linda,
You can deduce the sigma from the Gaussian function that:
sigma = w / sqrt (8*ln(2))
Follow the steps below to calculate the sigma and put the result in the Parameters table of the report sheet.
1. Press F9 to open the Fitting Function Organizer.
2. Find the Gaussian function in the Peak Functions category.
3. Type sigma=w/sqrt(8*ln(2))in the Derived Parameters text box.
4. Click the Save button to save the setting.
5. Close the dialog and use the Gaussian function to perform the fitting.
