im trying to plot a graph like the one attached with a continous y axis, but with two different xaxis that run into each other, can anyone help?
any thoughts or suggestions are welcomed?

Hi nommix,
You can create an "inset" graph as the second layer - which is linked to the
parent layer. You can set its position and dimensions according to how you want
it arranged spacialy. For example, you can consider bthe following procedure:
1) Scale properly the parent (first) layer
2) Press Add Inset Layer tool button to make the child (second) layer as an inset.
3) Decide where connecting point of parent and child layer is;
say, at 50% of parent's X scale, and 60% of Y scale.
4) Layer Plot Details, and Inset layer, Size/Speed tab, set the
layer positions (Left and Top) and dimensions (Width and Height)
(when "% of Linked Layer" is selected "Units")
In this sample, Left should be 50 %, Top 40% (=100-60),
Height 60% (40+60=100%). Width is your choice such that
in your case, X axis scale is free from the parent's X.
5) Using the Layer Contents dialog (double-click the [2] layer icon)
to include your second plot.
