Hello all,

I've had a similar problem to this before, but the method I tried to fix it doesn't seem to work. Here's the issue:

I was trying to make an XYZ 3d bar plot, and at first everything was fine, the plot looked like a 3D bar plot listed in the template organizer. At some point, I changed some data in the worksheet, and when I went to refresh the plot, and the bars changed into lines. I've attached a photo below. The lines cannot be customized to go back to bars (or columns, whatever you want to call them), and no amount of restarting, reformatting, or reconfiguring allows me to recover a true bar (column). I've tried opening templates and adding data from there, but nothing seems to work.

Ultimately, this isn't a huge issue, because I can still convey the data in a contour map or color-mapped bubble chart, but the 3D bar plot was still the best vehicle for this particular set of data. Any thoughts on what it would take to recover the proper template so the plot displays correctly?

Thanks much,
Dave

Hi Dave,

There is an option to change the width of bars, by Format: Plot Properties: Outline: Width. Could you try if this is able to set the width?
