Posted - 09/20/2013 : 04:01:00 AM Hello everybody, I need to import ASCII files from a PE UV spectrophotometer. It has 50 lines of essentially useless header-info before the actual data starts. However, nowhere the desired column longnames and units are given. They are the same for all files I need to import. Is there a way to define these variables with the import filter, so e.g. column(A) always has the longname "Wavelength" and Unit "nm" and column(B) has the name "Absorbance?
Thanks for your help, it is much appreciated! |

Posted - 09/20/2013 : 09:02:31 AM When you get to the last page of the Import Wizard and check "Save Filter" and fill in the Filter file name, also check the "Specify advanced filter options" check box which enables the "Next" button.
After you click "Next", type the following into the text box:
col(1)[L]$ = Wavelength; col(1)[U]$ = nm; col(2)[L]$ = Absorbance;
Click Finish to save the filter and complete the import. |
