When making Powerpoint slides, I prefer to insert Origin graphs as links (Paste --> Paste Special --> Paste link). In that way, changing something in the original Origin project is automatically reflected in the graphs in my slides, which I find very convenient.

However, updating the slides in Powerpoint is painfully slow - it usually takes many minutes after opening the PPT file. (Both PPT file and Origin projects reside on the same local hard disk.)

Has anyone experienced this as well? Any fixes available? Thanks!

Hi Christyli,

thanks for your reply.

I've observed the issue on two Win 7 computers, one running Powerpoint 2010 and Origin 9 and one running Powerpoint 2013 and Origin 8.5.1.

Unfortunately, due to my instution's IP regulations, I can't send you files. But it appears that it's related to certain Origin projects that are fairly large (10s of MB). When I remove all graphs but those that I want to link to from the Origin file, I notice a speed enhancement. The OPJ files themselves are fairly straightforward - just a large number of workbooks and graphs, nothing special.
