Posted - 01/16/2014 : 05:01:56 AM Hello, is there a way to unstack a bunch of columns formatted like this:
into something like this:
Col(A) now consists of the sorted values from col(B) in the origin sheet, and col(B) to col(E) contain the values from the origin col(C), unstacked and grouped by the values of the original col(A). I am aware of the unstacking function, and I can create something like this:
but I'm missing the option to create the desired new col(A), as shown in the 2nd picture.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Open unstack dialog by selecting "Worksheet: Unstack Columns" and do the following setting:
1). "Data to Unstacked" = col(C) 2). "Group Columns" = Col(A) 3). Check "Include Other Columns" checkbox. 4). "Other Columns" = Col(B) 5). "Extract Rule for Other Columns Values" = "Combining All Groups"
You can see the following page to learn more about unstacking worksheet. http://www.originlab.com/doc/Origin-Help/Wks-Unstacking-Cols
Please check which version are you using. This method is new in Origin 9.1.
