I created a text box and then discovered I'd rather have it attached to a different layer. Is that possible with Labtalk or else?
I only found this old thread and it seems like at least back then it was necessary to save the object, delete it and then recreate it in the other layer. Is there a quicker way now? Something like Object.layer = 2? |

It is trivial as a non-script way, you can do the following:
1) Select the text object, and press CTRL+X to Cut. 2) Choose the target layer icon where you want to move the object to. **Note: You can click anywhere as the paste location unless the active layer isn't changed. If this prevents staying in the active layer, you can choose "View: Show: Active Layer Only" menu to control. 3) Press CTRL+V to Paste.

Sorry that I don't think we have quicker methods other than Mike's solution.
