Hi everyone, good Easter to all of you. I've been doing SG smoothing for a while in Origin, but recently I've created a Virtual Instrument to do that (directly to measurement files) and I don't get the same results. I noticed that in origin, "points of window" means all the points used in calculations (sometimes means "side points, the "p" in "2p+1", like in labview), am I right?, but this number should be odd (=2*p+1) and the origin slide allows even numbers. Is it taking an asymmetric window? |

Posted - 04/17/2014 : 9:41:35 PM Your understanding is right, "points of window" means all the points used in calculations. Origin slide allows even numbers. However, the even number will be add 1 before calculation, and then a symmetric window is obtained.
