Hello, Can we overlay X Y Z data which is longitude, latitude , and parameter data to the 3 D topography map ?
I want the adjustable color bar ( scale) for my X Y Z data
I know how to plot 3 d topography map we have to make both the plots separate and then overlay or we can add data on same plot.
Is it possible we can make two plots separate and then overlay both |

You can use Worksheet: Convert to matrix: XYZ Gridding tool to create two uniform matrix from your XYZ data. http://www.originlab.com/doc/Origin-Help/XYZGridding-Dialog

looks like it is a 3D surface colormapped with another dataset. To plot a colormap on a surface, you would need to have two matrix with the same dimension in the same MBook. Please see the following tutorial for details: http://www.originlab.com/doc/Tutorials/3D-Colormap-Other-Mat

Posted - 04/23/2014 : 09:51:46 AM Hi, Sorry my last answer seems to have been deleted some how. Normally to overlay plots you would simply create two plots and Merge the. However since one of your plots is a 3D graph that is not be possible. One way you can do this is to follow this tutorial: http://www.originlab.com/doc/Tutorials/Multi-3DSurf-in-Layer
I am not sure what graph template you plan to use for your latitude and longitude data. However you can get your latitude/longitude data and 3D totpgraphy map data on the same layer. Then you can customize each one separately as done in the tutorial and adjust the Shift in Z by percent of scale for each till they are on top of each other. In the image below I hid two of the four plots created in the tutorial and adjusted the two remaining plots close to each other on the Z axis so it looks like one is overlayed on the other:
you can convert your XYZ data to matrix by going to Worksheet: Convert to Matrix: XYZ direct. If you run into trouble or this approach doesn't work feel free to send your opj to tech@originlab.com |
