Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin):
Operating System:

Hello,
I was trying to look at the vector wind plot at origin site.

http://www.originlab.com/www/products/GraphGallery.aspx?GID=102

It is written that "Wind speed and direction were also externally processed and then imported into a worksheet in Origin (as X, Y, Angle, and Magnitude data)."

Can anybody help me how to generate the data as X Y angle and magnitude.

Thanks
Gracy

Hi,

Assuming you have 4 columns (XYYY):
Col(A)-X; COl(B)-Y; Col(C)-Angle; COl(D)-Magnitude
Highlight all and select Plot: Specialized: Vector XYAM from the menu.

If you just have the starting and ending points of each vector (XYXY), you can also use Plot: Specialized: Vector XYXY to generate vector plot.
